who says you're not perfect?

I just don't understand humanity anymore. It's all about fake hair, fake nails, fake tans, fake eyelashes and dare I say it, fake boobs. Most people I know these days are fake. Not only their bodies, but their personalities. People aren't genuine anymore. I just don't get it. Why are those people who are the most real in life these days some of the least liked? It doesn't seem fair. It doesn't seem right. I don't get it. You could wear the cutest clothes, have a perfect body, have "thick" "long" hair, and to someone, you are "perfect". What happened to personality? What happened to the real kind of pretty?

I met one of the prettiest girls today. She wasn't a size 2, or even a size 6! But she had one of the prettiest faces I have ever seen. She didn't have gallons of make up. Heck! She was horseback riding.

Sometimes, the people you expect the least of, have the most to offer. Don't underestimate people.

You can choose to be fake--  that's fine. But I think that if people looked at themselves and others as a child of God, the world would be a better place.

So next time you look in the mirror ask yourself-- Who do I see?

i throw my hands up in the air sometimes

Today I started camp. To save you a long sad story on how orientation was miserable, I will just jump to today. (Yes Lauren, that was kinda like a vague Facebook status, if you wanted to know how orientation went you would answer your phone sometimes) Oh my the campers are funny. I work in "Explorers" (ages 6-9) I hope I can work there most of the summer. Since most people in MD have school still,  we just got the private school kids. There were 5 boys. Oh man, they say the funniest things. Then there were 3 counselors. (Baldy-- in my brothers ward, Brandon--17 year old funny boy, and Me--if you don't know me, stop reading my blog, creep)

**So yeah, I was sitting here typing (my laptop won't work for some dumb reason) and Coleman thought he would just scare me. . . AGAIN. He has done it so many times and somehow gets me each time. He is quieter than quiet then he just appears out of nowhere.**

That was a side note. Anyway, we went on a "hike" to some "haunted mill", went kayaking, had lunch, ate ice cream, and went tubing. I played so many games of ninja destruction and I sang "Dynamite" and other songs way too much. But I loved it. It was a fun adventure. Making up stories is going to be my expertee when I return. Want to know how the rocks got there? Oh yeah, a dragon. Take that Mrs. Benson. I told them to look for a bright red rock that the dragon's wife made out of one teardrop. They were looking forever. How I love little kids.

Kids say the funniest things. They saw a bunch of ants. Conversation...
Kids:  (screaming) "Ahh!!! There are just so many ants!"
Kid #1: "Yeah, you know how many people there are in the world?"
Kid #2: A lot!
Kid #1: Infinity
Kid #3: No about 7 billion.
Kid #1: Yeah, so there a infinity people and do we all just scream when we see them?! No! So calm down!!!
Hahahah that was just classic. Have a good day. Behave.

what do you say?

hahahaha, i am a little lonely.
Welcome to Maryland Mayson. Yep. Alive. Me. I am. It hasn't been too exciting, nothing much to boast about yet. I went to the pool yesterday. I didn't swim. I felt awkward because I was alone. I watched Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Yours, Mine and Ours (the new one, not funny like the one Brower showed us in Drama) and started watching The Lake House. I got bored during the last one, and super confused. I don't quite understand how they were writing in different years. I am sure they explain it at some point but I was bored, so off it went. I have been to the grocery store a few times, eaten a few sandwiches, really not too exciting. But let me tell you, I really like my new family, The kids are hilarious.

Colman. Oh Colman. What a crack up. He is 12. I asked him about himself. He said he likes to read. Then he went on and on about how much he likes to read. Then he went on and on about how I should read for an hour every night. Then he went on and on about the kind of books I should read. Seriously, I love Colman.  If only he knew my struggles with reading. He gave me a book to read. I feel obligated to read it-- I was excited for Les Mis, but I guess " The Name of This Book is Secret" will be my new read. Colman is going to make me play Magic with him. And tons of other things. He is great.

Then we have Tate. I haven't talked to Tate much, I think he is scared of me. Tate's 10. He has long hair, which I am not to fond of. But he has the cutest little voice. Tate had come choir concert thing last night. I was going to go, but found myself at home watching a movie instead. I hope Tate doesn't stay scared of me forever. He seems pretty sweet.

Then we have Gabe. Gabe is scared of me too. He is 7. Gabe drew a picture and asked me if I like it. He was the first kid I met but I still don't know him well. He makes me laugh. I like being around Gabe. He is pretty cool. But since the 3 oldest boys have school, I haven't talked to them much, besides Colman. Gabe is pretty sweet.

Oh and little Finn. He is 2 almost 3. Okay, I have been around Finn a lot. He is so sweet and cute. But at the same time, he is kinda a little punk. We went to Target and he literally wanted everything. "Mom I want that! I want that!" Overall, he is a pretty well behaved little boy. He was scared of me at first and still kinda is, but I think he has gotten used to me.]

Anjie is my new mother. I like her. She is a sweetheart. She is organic health freak though, that is a little different than my donuts and crazy core diet. So far, I have enjoyed everything. She is also pretty cool and will buy me my own food if I need it. But, I don't want to bug too much. At the same time, I don't want to starve. So we will see.

Eric is the dad. He is such a great, nice guy. He is pretty chill, super nice. He is funny too. We were looking up boys on FB yesterday for me to date. (HIS IDEA) We watched some funny videos (like the one I posted yesterday) Eric is super cool.

So yeah, that's the Martinis family. I like them. They are pretty cool people. I guess we shall see. Work starts tomorrow. Orientation? Oh yes. Please, please let me make a friend.

one day to a new beginning

Mady and I in a cave. Oh geology.

we love dinosaurs

Joseph. I love Joseph.

Provo Beach Resort. Karaoke baby.

Clouds at 6AM from the Y.

No sleep+singing Joseph+awesome outfit=this picture

Oh Paigey.

Les Mis. White legs. Short. That's me.
Title fitting much? Les Mis+One more day in Provo?! Today I went shopping. I got all sorts of things for my adventures. I got a handful of things. I still need a handful more. I still can't believe tomorrow is my last day in Utah for 2 months. I really am so excited. Nerves have been accompanying my excitement--but really I can't wait. Oh goodness, real cities. I get to go to real cities. Yesterday I was in SLC for Les Mis. (Yes I went on a Sunday-- JUDGE ME!) It made me so exited to walk the streets of DC. Goodness me, I am excited. Les Mis was among the best plays I have even seen. I loved it. Words can't describe how much I loved it. Wicked stil stays dearest in my heart but how can you not love Fantine belting "I Dreamed a Dream" or little Gavroche or the poor love story of Marius, Cossette and Eponine (really just poor for Eponine) or one of the greatest acts of redemption and love of Jean Valjean?   All of it was just beautiful. Hands down beautiful. I loved it. Dearly.

Ps. Random pictues were just for fun.

ticking on and on

4 days. It is insane. It is sort of this unreal thing that is happening to me. 4 days. I have been enjoying Utah the best I can.

Hanging out with some old friends. Let me restate that-- playing ALL day, staying up ALL night, doing some crazy adventures (ie. dumpster diving, park playing, hiking the Y... might I add all in the hours of the night)  Utah, you have treated me well these last few days.

Maybe it is because everyone loved the yearbook, and overall-- that is just an accomplishing feeling any way. Maybe it's because by some odd miracle my grade in sweety's class went up and I am satisfied with my grades. Maybe its because a billion people have been throwing parties and each of them have been pretty decent. I don't know. All I know is that Utah, you have been treating me well.

I am truly grateful for the people who have helped me in my life. They helped me become the person I am. As I venture out on a new journey this summer, I know I could never have done it without some of you. So thanks.

I really loved the graduation quote-- Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.-- Change is coming my way. I am the change that I seek. So everyone, be the change. It's a perfect time to reevaluate yourself and ask if you are happy with who you are.

Utah, you really have treated me well. Not only the last couple of days, the last 17 years. You have shaped me into the person I am today. Maryland, be nice. I am only a sheltered little Mormon girl trying something new. Don't be too hard on me. I am begging.
