no one cries they won't return

Call in sick. You aren't getting any better as the day goes on Mayson. You feel like crap. Maybe it's the 5 hours of sleep. Not maybe, probably.  Go to bed. EXPLOSION. My head hurts. Hurts is putting it lightly.
I hate my job sometimes. I need a day. One day. To hopefully regenerate and feel better. Being in the heat all day doesn't help.  I can handle headaches. I get them often. This is one that I really feel like will never go away.
Please don't make me go.
On the bright side, I see Wicked tomorrow.  Words can't express my excitement. Also, I completed number 51 on my list of things for this year. Hello 4 on my AP test. I know it's no 5. But it's a 4 and I passed. Thank the heavens above!
These are the thoughts that crowd my throbbing head.

we are running this town.

13.1 miles later--

You are all invited to my funeral.

Note to self: Don't run a half marathon, where you don't train and decide the day before that you are going to do it. You knee will stop working at mile 10.

But hey, I still finished :)

#6 Completed. Who would have thought?

it's a typical tuesday night

Except really-- it wasn't.

Spring break so far has been an adventure.

Friday- Well that was Stanford's birthday party. We went to the beach resort. We surfed, played games, and I even sung some karaoke. After I called Sarah, and we went to the outdoor concert, happened to be Ryan Shuppe and the Rubberband. I loved them. So talented. After that, we went to Paige's and watched Hot Rod. Well they did. I fell asleep. :)

Saturday- So... Oh yeah. Travis Tyler got his wisdom teeth out so Amanda and I took him some Jamba Juice. He was abnormally normal and fine. So we were there for a little. Later that night we went to Lauren's play "The Titanic". That was good. We met some kid named Josh. Hahaha. After Cf, Amanda and I just went to my house. Andy and Stookey randomly visited. That was pleasant. ;)

Sunday- Sunday School Games, napping, my grandmas house, Laurens house, playing nertz, McKann and Sarah coming and visiting. Oh yeah.

Monday- Babysitting. Cafe Rio. Bowling 3 rounds with Sarah. Ice Cream. Visiting KC. Yeah.

Tuesday- Oh Tuesday! So Sarah and I took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. That was fun. Then we went shopping with her mom, sister and brother. I love both Ashley and Noah so much. Pretty great. Then we went to Taco Time. Yummy. After we were sitting at Sarah's house and Stuart called. Travis, Connor Goodwin, Bryson Seifert, and Stuart were going to the Hot Pots in Heber and wanted us to go. So... We did. After waving to some "friendly people" we got into the warm water and were having a good time. Basically, we see a car, a couple of flashlights, and yep, you guessed it, it was the cops. Apparently, we were trespassing and the "friendly" people were the owners and instead of being normal and telling us to get off their property, they just called the cops on us. So we all got a citation, and will have to pay a fee. Yeah. At first I was freaking out, but after I called my mom, and the boys were joking a lot, I was fine. Mayson Astle got a citation. I never had that planned. Ever. But hey, how funny is that? So now my mom calls me her "little criminal" and I have some seriously good things to laugh about. (that is, until I find out how much money I must pay!!!)

#9-Do something rebellious. That's good enough for me. Check.

And today is Wednesday. We shall see what it will bring. Last night I had 2 dreams about me forgetting that the elections packets were due and I couldn't run for Student Government. It was a nightmare. AHH!!! I would dream of something like that. I am Mayson.

bucket list.

22. Go a week without Facebook.

I did it. Yeah. I decided last Saturday, no facebook this week. I didn't really care too much. Yeah it was tempting at times but it is a sigh of relief to have it done.

52. Dress up crazy, and crash a party.

Sarah Thayne is too good to be true. Our outfits rocked the world on Friday. So what if we weren't invited? We are coming anyway.

Anyway, I officially will run May 7th half marathon. June 1st I leave for Maryland. Fun stuff coming up.

Next big thing? Planning Morp. Yeah baby.

Ps. If anyone knows how to change what the "reactions" buttons at the bottom and wants to help let me know. :)

59 days, will i be ready?

Today I was reminded I don't only love running.

I do have a love-hate relationship with the guy.

I remember a few months back, Dania and I were talking about running. I clearly remember her saying, "People think that just because I am a 'runner' that I don't ever have bad days running." I was under the idea that Dania never had a hard time running myself. But I learned a good lesson that day, no matter how good you get at something it doesn't mean you don't have a hard time.

Ok, I may not be in super great shape right now, (or even in shape it feels like!) and its not like I was ever an amazing runner, but today's run shouldn't have been as hard as it was. I only did like 3.5- 4 miles. (Probably closer to 3.5) I did run up Timpview/Wills Hill. (Whatever you call that dumb hill) but other than that it shouldn't have been so hard. I  had a bad physical run. My body was hurting, especially my shoulders and neck. (Don't ask me, you think it would be more my legs, but my legs were mad at me too).  My foot didn't hurt, thats a sign. Well I ran in my old shoes to see if my new shoes were the problem, by golly I think they were. That sucks. I hope it is an easy fix so my brand new asics don't go to waste. (Plus they look super cool!) My poor physical strength lead to a mental disturbance. I had a mentally bad run too. I kept beating myself up. It didn't seem right to be so upset and bad at running. It reminded me of my first day of XC. That's how bad it was.

As I finally made it home, I thought, if every running day was perfect, I never would push myself. I wouldn't want to run as much. It wouldn't be worth anything. Tomorrow, I want to go kick that run in the face and show running who is boss. That run made me angry and now I am motivated to try even harder. Bad runs teach me how awesome good ones are.  There really is opposition to all things.

reflections late at night.

Bucket List Completion:
15. Make Steve Orton cookies, it was his 50th, I made him cookies!!!

46. Donate blood. Did it, and will continue to do it.

I have been re-reading my "mission-statement/motto thing" for this year and so far it feels successful.

This year will be the one.

The one where I live every day to it's full potential- Lately I have filled everyday with stuff, basketball games, friends in general, doing crazy things. It has NOT been dull at all!

The one where I learn from the past, but never set foot it in, The one where I learn from the past, but never set foot it in, The one to come close to the Lord through church, scriptures, seminary, prayers, fasting, experience, friends, family and life.

The one where the temple is my second home, and I get to free souls in heaven. - I added "Attend Temple Regularly" to my bucket-list thing. Sarah and I have gone the past two weeks and decided to go every week we can. I honestly love the temple. Everything is so grand, peaceful and beautiful there.

The one to fall in love with life again.- Whoever "D" is, I want you to know, I truly took your letter to heart. I love it and read it often. But when I read that line, I decided I wanted that, I decided I wanted to be in love with life again. So I did. I made some changes, and I am glad and happy to say, life is not that bad, and I am actually doing pretty dang well.

The one where I dance in the kitchen, scream songs in the car and act like no one is ever watching- Literally, Sarah and I screamed in the car. It was pretty great.

January treated me well. It honestly did. I am happy with life, and I will continue to be. I need to work on my running goals, and some other things, but I will. I have 11 months to become the girl I want to become in 2011.

Shoot, it is one in the morning!!!!! I need to go to bed now.

Sunday, January 23, 2011

as the day hits the night, we will sit by candle light. . .

I love my bucket list for the year. I really should just call it a list of things to do this year, but I don't want to. Here's my weekend...

Photo Booth, we love you.

Definition of us.

hahahaha

I love those two.
Sarah and Mayson took some pictures on Photo Booth, quite common thing we do. Then we went to Taco Bell, Days and Cariel's party. (Emily and Mady had joined by then). Then pretty much Eric, his cousin, Quinn (?) from Orem, KC, Trent, and Malcolm came over and we watched The Social Network. Ok, Mayson loves that movie very mucho. Macall, Andy, Shannon and Quincie joined too. Sarah left though. :(  So after that fun little party we went to Lauren's house, swam, and had a sleep over. That's pretty much it for Friday.

Saturday, Mayson slept again pretty much all day. I think Mayson is sick. Then Emily Curtis came over. I love Emily Curtis. We went and got some frozen yogurt, joined Sarah, Christian, Trent, KC and Reese at the bowling place. Then Mayson and Emily left and went home to watch Despicable Me. Shortly into that, Stookey and BJ came over. Yeah, they are pretty cool. Super exciting.

On a side note, Shannon made me laugh so hard at church. Quite funny that girl. LOVE HER.

33. Swim at Lauren's during the winter.
36. Go Bowling
38. Girl's Sleepover.
DONE.

The word of the week is "patience", for starters check out this amazing talk.  I will definitely be quoting it throughout the week.

12. 45. Finished

I love my bucket list of things to do.

12. Make food for someone. Ok, I do this every day for my children. (NO, I am not a teenage mom in hiding, I do NOT have a child-- that's reference to my siblings) But I was kinda talking about someone besides them)

Sometimes I am sitting at my house and someone texts me and wants a sandwich. So I make it, and take it up to Timpview. Ok, why on earth would I ever be SO eager to make someone a sandwich? Let me tell you! Once upon a time, I had a friend. One weekend, I was so sick and dying and all I wanted was a sandwich. I told the friend. Guess who NEVER got a sandwich from the friend, me? Ok... never is an exaggeration. I got the stupid sandwich two months later when I was mad at the friend. Want to know the lesson I learned? Do something to be nice, because you care about the person, NOT because you want to win "points" with them.

Funny thing is, about a year later , I was sick. Instead of asking for something, a friend brought me a shake. Now, I think that this friend who brings me stuff and cares deserves a sandwich when they want a sandwich. So yes, 12 is complete. I made a sandwich.

45. Give someone a random gift. Fish. Fish is a random gift. Sometimes I go to the store and I decide to buy fish for others. The end.

Oh Be Wise

Let me just say- I love the 50 week challenge idea. So far, so good.

John 14:27 reads "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God"- James 1:5. This is the scripture that changed my life. As a young boy, Joseph realized his problem, he lacked wisdom. He didn't know what he wanted to know. He realized he needed to seek God. He made one wise choice, to gain the greatest wisdom. He prayed. "What happened there changed the world, let it change your life" Jacob 6:12 reads "Oh be wise, what can I say more" Sometimes wisdom is found in education, facts, and schooling. Sometimes it is found through experience. Every year we sing "one year older and wiser too" Think to yourself, am I getting wiser? What could I do to gain more wisdom?

Accomplished.

23. 32. Done. I love my list for 2011.

23- I cleaned my room the other day and got rid of 3/4ths of my clothes. It felt amazing to get rid of so much stuff.

32- I wrote a letter to Brother Olivas, my seminary teacher. Let's be real here, he was the best I have ever had. I admit it, I cried about it ending. Weird eh? Yes. But honestly Brother Olivas was the most amazing person ever. (I feel like he died hahaha)

44. Let me tell you about the 50 week challenge, I got the idea from Dania. Basically I am going to focus on one of those words every week, this week being peace. So I walk into Days, what do I see on their quote board? Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it. What are the odds? I love the 50 week challenge. Such a great idea Dania! Thanks :)
